Tehran's notorious Evin prison is reportedly packed to capacity now and
security forces are housing the detained in football stadiums. So many
people are put in Tehran’s prisons that prisoners only have standing
space.

Zhila Bani Yaghoub and her husband Bahman Ahmadi Amooyi were
arrested in Iran on June 20, 2009. Zhila Bani Yaghoub is reported to be held in the notorious ward 209 of Evin Prison, Iran.
Bahman Ahmadi Amooyee was arrested in 2008 while preparing a report on the
womens' peaceful demonstration in HAFTE TIR Square, on 12 June. He
stayed in prison for one week. The security branch of the so
called Revolution Court has accused Mr. Amooyee of endangering national
security. Bahman Ahmadi Amooyee was arrested again in June 2009 and is held in Ward 209 of Evin. He does not have contact with his family.

NEWSWEEK reporter Maziar Bahari has been detained in Iran since June 21 without access to a lawyer, accused of "irresponsible reporting".
Ebrahim Goodarzvand-Chagini is a prisoner who got in a fight when he was 16 and killed the older, larger man who was beating on him. He was sentenced to
death by hanging.
Economist Bijan Khajehpour was arrested and detained by authorities of the Islamic Republic of
Iran. Khajehpour was snatched from the Tehran airport on June 27 upon
arrival from Britain. His whereabouts are thus far unknown to his wife,
two young children, family, friends and colleagues.
